Overview of the Darul Ifta

The Darul Ifta/Ask Fatwa (institute of Islamic Jurisprudence) is the Fatwa department of Darul Uloom Arabia Islamia N.Z . The Darul Ifta is a non-profit body which strives to assist the community in solving issues facing the Ummah. Alhamdulillah the Darul Ifta been serving the community for approximately the last ten years. The Darul Ifta has also commenced a rigorous Ifta training course of two years for Ulama.   Many questions have been answered via email and Whatsapp. We guarantee 100% confidentiality. The Darul Ifta is run by (Mufti) Muhammad Irshad Motara, a graduate of Madrasah Arabia Islamia, Azaadville S.A.

The following facilities are provided to the public (free of charge):

Istiftaa :

  • One can personally come to the Darul Ifta
    and ask questions and get them answered by qualified Ulama and Muftis (strictly on appointment).

Arbitration and Reconciliation :

  • Meetings held with Ulama in order to solve marital, family and business disputes (Note: Strict adherence to the laws of Parda will take place).

Business matters :

  • Meetings to discuss matters relating to your business and work, whether it is according to Shariah or not, and if not, how to Inshallah make it Shariah compliant.

 Wills :

  • We will inshallah assist you with regards to writing up your Islamic Will and explaining to you the laws of inheritance.

Publications/Literature :
  • You can collect free pamphlets/booklets which have been compiled by the Darul Ifta.
